For several years, B-G Mechanical has played a key role in supporting a Western Massachusetts College’s ambitious campus-wide geothermal energy initiative. What began as a large-scale infrastructure project has evolved into a showcase of our diverse mechanical construction capabilities, spanning everything from excavation and underground utilities to complex mechanical system installations across the campus.
Working both above and below ground, our teams have installed miles of piping, HVAC systems, heat pumps, chillers, and supporting infrastructure that form the backbone of the college’s sustainable energy network. The project has required extensive coordination, specialized rigging operations, and innovative solutions, including routing piping beneath a campus pond and integrating new systems into existing campus facilities while maintaining ongoing operations.
Beyond the scale and complexity of the work, the project reflects the craftsmanship and attention to detail that define every B-G Mechanical installation. From meticulously routed piping systems to highly organized mechanical spaces, each element was executed with precision and pride. While much of mechanical construction is typically concealed behind walls or buried underground, the quality of this work stands as a visible testament to the expertise, dedication, and skill of the team that built it – which is why it is enclosed in glass for all to see.
